The Right Honourable Sir Winston Spencer Churchill Society of Alaska will meet for its 23rd annual black tie dinner to mark Churchill’s 138th birthday at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage on Friday, November 30, 2012, at half-past seven. Our guest of honor is Ronald I. Cohen, the Churchill bibliographer, who will speak on his discoveries about Churchill’s writings in compiling his definitive three-volume bibliography. The traditional singing of Harrow School songs will be led by the Canaries. Subscriptions are $80 for Churchill Centre members, and reservations are required. For reservations, contact James W. Mr. Cohen will deliver a Polaris Lecture at the University of Alaska Anchorage on Thursday, November 29, 2012, “Winston Churchill as a Writer,” which is free and open to the public. The lecture will be held at the UAA/APU Consortium Library, in the Lewis E. Haines Meeting Room, Room 307, at 7.30 p.m. Parking on campus is free after 7.30 p.m.
