New at the Churchill War Rooms: Churchill Deep Zoom
This innovative new exhibit at the Churchill War Rooms features a giant image of Churchill, which viewers can ‘zoom into’ to see hundreds of other fascinating photographs of Britain’s wartime leader.
To mark the seventieth anniversary of Churchill becoming Prime Minister in May 1940, Churchill Deep Zoom, built by Microsoft Silverlight specialists Shoothill, provides an extraordinary overview of his life in images, and also features private letters, audio files and video footage. From pictures of Churchill inspecting bomb damage during the Blitz to holiday snaps in Monte Carlo to the letters from his wife Clementine, zoom in to find out about the man behind the image.
Churchill Deep Zoom can also be viewed on our microsite, 1940: Britain’s Finest Hour.
