churchill symposium

Presented in partnership with the Churchill Society of New Orleans

The National WWII Museum is pleased to announce the return of the Winston S. Churchill Symposium. An annual event since 2011, the Symposium is a daylong program that draws people from around the country to learn about the man who was voted “The Greatest Briton of the 20th Century.” This program, a collaborative effort between The National WWII Museum and the Churchill Society of New Orleans, brings members of both organizations together to learn and celebrate this giant of a man.

The Symposium went on hiatus in 2014, due to the Churchill Centre’s International Conference being hosted in New Orleans that spring, but 2015 will see this popular program return stronger than ever for its fourth installment.

While World War II is the Museum’s primary focus, Churchill’s long and illustrious life and career allow for each year’s program to span beyond the war years, either by highlighting his formidable younger years or by discussing the influence he had in the postwar years.

Have Dinner with the Speakers!

A special and exciting addition to the program this year will be the option to join the speakers for dinner in The American Sector restaurant that evening.

The post-symposium “Dinner with the Speakers” event features a three-course menu with wine service and the opportunity to interact personally with these world-renowned speakers. Limited to just 30 participants, this intimate affair is sure to be a unique session filled with intelligent conversation based on the life of Sir Winston. Get to know those who have studied him and the history of World War II.

Following The Gen. Raymond E. Mason Jr. Distinguished Lecture on WWII Reception in The American Sector atrium, dinner guests will be granted special “after hours” access to the Museum’s Campaigns of Courage pavilion to explore our newest exhibit, Road to Berlin. For those who prefer to experience Beyond All Boundaries in the Solomon Victory Theater, the option to do so is available for the 5:00 pm viewing.

5:00 pm – 6:30 pm: VIP after-hours access to Road to Berlin or viewing of Beyond All Boundaries
