Tuesday, 28th September 2010 – 7.00pm
Location: Churchill War Rooms
Professor Richard Overy re-evaluates the Battle of Britain on its seventieth anniversary year, examining the stories that have accumulated over the years to separate the myths from the history. He analyses the comparative strengths and weaknesses of the opposing forces and looks at how important the battle was to Britain’s survival in 1940.
Richard Overy is Professor of History at the University of Exeter and one of the world’s leading historians on the Second World War.
The Churchill Lecture Series is sponsored by Military History.
