A highly regarded reporter, researcher, professor and writer, Lynne Olson is her own kind of rebel: She was the first woman correspondent for the Associated Press in Moscow, in the 1970s. She went on to cover the White House for the Baltimore Sun.

In the 1990s she turned to writing books of important nonfiction, focusing on pivotal moments in the history of the twentieth century. Few such moments were more critical than in England in the 1930s. It was then that Winston Churchill and like-minded “rebels” steadfastly fought Parliament against placating Hitler. In Troublesome Young Men, Olson focuses not only on Churchill’s political acumen but also on the moral principles that guided him-the same unwavering beliefs that would soon lead a country.
