Parliament Creates Visual Tour of Churchill's Career

Winston_Churchill_Vanity_Fair_1911To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Churchill's death in January 1965, the website of the British Parliament has created a tribute to one of its longest-serving and most celebrated members. "Churchill and Parliament" illustrates Churchill's lengthy career with etchings, paintings, caricatures, photographs and other media. Links to relevant newsreel footage are included as are images of the posthumous honours accorded to Churchill by Parliament including his lying in state and the statue by Oscar Nemon that flanks the entrance to the House of Commons. New Window at St. Martin's Church, Bladon Will Commemorate
Churchill at His Burial Site. Donations Are Sought.

Churchill_Stained_Glass_detailThe parish church of St. Martin's, Bladon is the final resting place of Sir Winston Churchill and the members of his immediate family. The Parochial Church Council and congregation have decided to mark the 50th anniversary of Churchill's death by establishing a permanent memorial within the fabric of the church and have commissioned a stained glass window that will stand for as long as the church itself. Dinner in the Blenheim Palace Orangery

The 32nd International Churchill Conference will take place in Oxfordshire from 26-29 May. On the evening of Thursday the 28th there will be a Pol Roger Reception at Blenheim Palace followed by dinner in the Orangery. Our host will be His Grace the Duke of Marlborough. The Hon. Celia Sandys and Mr Robert Hardy CBE will speak. Coaches to and from conference headquarters at the Heythrop Park Hotel will be provided.

British Pathé Opens the Vault

british-pathe-logoSir Winston Churchill dominated 20th century politics and in 2002 was named the greatest Briton of all time. During this time British Pathé's cameras provided the world with a unique, visual insight into his character.
