How to Support the Churchill Centre

Print

The Churchill Centre is incorporated in the State of Illinois as a not-for-profit educational association. The association is exempt from federal income taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Centre provides receipts for donations that are tax deductible as personal charitable contributions. There are many ways to support the work of The Churchill Centre.

Membership
The Basic annual membership fee of $50 pays the cost of membership, most specifically the cost of printing and distributing our quarterly journal, Finest Hour. (Membership is discounted to $25 for students and members of academia. Overseas membership is $60 to cover the higher cost of overseas postage.) Other levels-Contributor ($100), Sustainer ($150), Supporter ($250), Benefactor ($500), and Fellow ($1,000), No. Ten Club ($10,000)-help us advance our cause. All amounts contributed over the Basic level are tax deductible.

Heritage Fund
Each Fall, the Centre conducts a Heritage Fund appeal for support of our many educational and publishing activities. Last year over 150 members contributed $30,000 in response to our appeal. All Heritage Fund contributions are fully tax deductible.

The Churchill Centre Associates Program

The Churchill Centre Associates Program is designed to guarantee our long-term financial security. Associates are members who donate $10,000 or more (cash or stock transfer) to an Endowment that will assure a continued future for programs and activities of The Churchill Centre. Our Patron, Lady Soames, has authorized the naming of three Associate levels.

  • Winston Churchill Associates (Gifts of $50,000 and up). Their names will appear at the Centre, on all publications of the Centre, and on the programs of all events sponsored by the Centre forever. From the $100,000 level up there are many named gift opportunities including a large variety of programs. Details and suggestions are available upon request.
  • Clementine Churchill Associates (Gifts of $25,000 to $49,999). Their names will appear at the Centre and on all publications of the Centre forever.
  • Mary Soames Associates (Gifts of $10,000 to $24,999). Their names will appear at the Centre, as described above.

Churchill Centre Associates may remit their chosen amounts in self-determined installments over four years, and it is possible, now and in the future, to move to a higher level through an additional gift. Those pledging more than $10,000 may defer any amount over $10,000 through a bequest or later gift. For example, one may become a Winston Churchill Associate with a gift of $10,000 now, coupled with a bequest of $40,000 substantiated in a memorandum of understanding and a copy of the applicable bequest. Associate names may include the name of a spouse.
