On Thursday, September 21, guest speaker Ilai Saltzman. He will address our Society on “Churchill, Truman, the State of Israel and the Current Middle East”.
Dr Ilai Saltzman is the Associate Director of Academic Programs at the Israel Institute in Washington, D.C. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Haifa, a Master’s in International Relations (magna cum laude) and a B.A. in International Relations both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Dr. Saltzman is the author of Securitizing Balance of Power Theory and published an article entitled Not So Special Relationship? U.S.-Israel ‘Special Relations’ during Barack Obama’s Presidency.
Ilai has held professorships at Claremont McKenna College, Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv University and was a Research Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.
Dr. Saltzman’s current research focuses on states’ self-destructiveness, the role of emotions in foreign policy decision-making, and Change and Continuity in American Grand Strategy.
